Thank you for being an early supporter of General Collaboration! This quick update is about changes shipping today as well as fast-follows slated for the coming weeks.
Doubling down on Inbox
Three weeks ago, we introduced our aggregate, cross-app Inbox. Based on usage and feedback from users like you, it's clear. Inbox already provides a ton of value and has so much potential.
With all that in mind, we've decided to double down on Inbox! We'll integrate with more apps, improve prioritization logic, and add new functionality (including highly requested "Comment Snooze") in the coming weeks!
Pausing @mention functionality
To give Inbox the attention it deserves, we've decided to temporarily remove all @mention functionality from GC. You will of course still be able to @mention using each app's native functionality, but you'll no longer be able to mention documents in other apps using GC.
As of this morning, we've removed @mentions, and with that update, you'll already see the first batch of improvements to Inbox, including...
👾 Improvements & Fixes
We now fetch comments more quickly and more reliably than before, and we'll continue to invest in this in the coming weeks. Thank you Seth K and Junaid C for your help identifying and troubleshooting issues. Our fixes for your accounts improved Inbox for everyone!
Inbox now has a "Reply" button that brings you directly to the comment you'd like to reply to. Thanks for the great idea, Dexter LG.
We've added a drag indicator to the GC jewel to make it easy to tell that you can move the jewel anywhere you'd like. Thanks Brock L.
