Thank you for being an early supporter of General Collaboration and one of the first to sign up for GC. We’re excited to share GC’s first ever product update with you!
If you’re reading this and still on the waitlist, we can’t wait to get you in and will send you an invite soon. In the meantime, we’d love to show you what we’ve been working on!
Universal In-doc and In-comment @mentions
Early versions of GC enabled in-comment superpowers. Now, in our latest release, GC works in-doc as well as in-comment. Simply type “@” from inside any of GC’s supported apps and you’ll be able to quickly find and link to all your teams documents, regardless of what app you’re in.
GC for Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides + GC for Jira
GC’s first users were able to use GC inside of Notion, Figma, and Linear. In addition to those apps GC now works inside all of the Google Drive apps (incl. Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides) as well as inside of Jira.
👾 Improvements & Fixes
GC’s keyboard shortcut has evolved from “/” to “@” to be more aligned with existing @mention habits.
GC’s jewel has been redesigned for better visibility and is now drag and drop-able, so you can move it anywhere you’d like along the border of your browser. Thanks Kyle L, Steven C, Shridhar G for your feedback that helped drive these improvements.
An issue where newly created documents would be name “Untitled” instead of their actual name has been resolved. Thanks Doug C for reporting.
An issue where some Notion docs appeared to not be synced to GC when in fact they were has been resolved. Thank you Amal D for reporting.
Thanks for reading all the way to the end of our very first product update! If you made it this far and are still on the waitlist and are excited to start using GC just reply to this email and we’ll get you bumped to the top of the list!
